Cashmere Hair Closed: What to Buy If You Want Unprocessed Hair

Remy & Virgin is not Cashmere Hair, and we are not affiliated with that brand. Facts below come from Cashmere Hair’s own public notices. We manufacture 100% RAW Indian temple hair — hair that is both Remy (cuticle-aligned) and Virgin (chemically unprocessed). That is a different grade than processed Remy.

Cashmere Hair announced it was winding down after 13 years. Remaining inventory was sold as a closeout. Sales after 1 March 2026 were final. Their Instagram is marked closed.

This is not their store and not their customer service. It is here because people still search the name — and because a Remy clip-in brand shutting down is not the same thing as unprocessed temple hair disappearing from the market.

What Cashmere Hair sold

Cashmere was a direct-to-consumer clip-in brand. They went on Shark Tank Season 5, left without a deal, and spent the next decade on named fashion shades: Sunset Blonde, Beverly Hills Brunette, Roxbury Red.

The lineup was classic clip-ins, seamless clip-ins, one-piece volumizers, wrap ponytails, and a cut-anywhere weft they called Genius Weft.

Their own FAQ said the hair was minimally processed Remy — dyed — and not Virgin. That is a real grade. It is not Raw.

Quick definitions (how we use the words):

  • Remy — cuticles intact and aligned root to tip. Reduces tangling. Remy hair can still be dyed or lightly processed.
  • Virgin — never chemically processed, dyed, bleached, or permed.
  • Raw — both Remy and Virgin: single-donor, cuticle-aligned, chemically unprocessed. No silicone coating. No mixed-donor lots dressed up as “luxury Remy.”

If your Cashmere set lasted and blended, that is why people liked it. Longevity on processed Remy still depends on care — and once any silicone coating washes off cheaper “Remy,” quality drops fast. Always ask what you are actually buying.

Cashmere vs RAW Indian temple hair

Cashmere Hair: processed Remy, dyed to fashion shades, sold as ready-to-wear clip-in sets. Wind-down in 2026.

Remy & Virgin: 100% RAW Indian human hair, ethically sourced from South Indian temples, single donor, cuticle-aligned and chemically unprocessed. No silicone coating. No synthetic or animal fiber. Factory in Chennai. Fulfillment from the USA (Pennsylvania warehouse). Natural textures only — straight, wavy, curly, loose curly — with natural black and brown tones. With proper care, RAW hair is built for 2+ years of wear (often longer when treated like your own hair).

You cannot swap a Sunset Blonde clip-in set for a RAW bundle and expect the same unboxing. RAW hair keeps the donor’s color and wave. Fashion platinum and rooted balayage are a different product.

If you needed a specific dyed blonde, RAW hair is the wrong substitute. If you wanted human hair that still holds after washing — cuticle-aligned, unprocessed, single donor — that is the reason to switch.

Natural variation is part of RAW hair. Texture, pattern, and tone can vary bundle to bundle. Put preferences in the order note; we cannot promise an exact social-photo match.

If you bought Cashmere clip-ins

Wear what you have until it is done. A well-kept Remy clip-in set is still usable.

If you want another ready-to-wear clip-in, buy clip-ins made from RAW Indian hair — not another mystery “Remy” box with no cuticle story.

If you want density a stylist can cut and reuse across installs, move to RAW Indian bundles — wavy, straight, curly, or loose curly.

Color match on RAW hair is a photo and a conversation, not a shade name on a hanger. Send a natural-light photo of your mid-lengths, not only the roots.

If you are a stylist who sold Cashmere

Cashmere was mostly a consumer brand. If clients ask for a replacement, do not order another processed-Remy line and call it the same hair.

Wholesale at Remy & Virgin is licensed stylists and salon owners only. MOQ 8 bundles a month. Mix lengths and textures. Orders on WhatsApp — not a website wholesale checkout. No membership fee.
